Awwwww ... good times. Mom is doing OK? Are you getting paternity leave?

Yeah, mom's doing better than expected considering she had a pretty rough labor and delivery. Breastfeeding (which is a ******* miracle, by the way) is going great.

Teaches me to read the second sentence before the first.

Congratulations!

WONDERFUL! WONDERFUL! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Happy, happy day!

'Grats to the Babars! After putting up with the hijinks of a roving band of SportsJournalists.commers, Arnold, I'm sure you and Mrs. Babar will be ready for anything the little guy tosses your way.
;)

(And not to threadjack, but those of you who know Tim Graham may want to send a congratulatory note to his newly-expanded family, as well ...)

From one E'burg survivor to another, much congrats AB and Mrs. AB. Enjoy the time off while you can ... winter meetings in Vegas are coming up soon.

Oh, and the left-handed thing -- it doesn't work. Tried it with my boy ... he's zinging right-handed fastballs now.

I've seen the photos; he's already better looking than Arnold. :)

That's certainly the truth. He's an exceptionally cute baby, even by baby standards. :)

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone. It's much appreciated. We're in the middle of the first night at home, and it's going as well as we could have hoped.

There was a moment earlier, right about the time he turned 48 hours old, when mom was in bed and I was on the couch, with the baby asleep on my chest. Hard to imagine life getting any better than that.

Man, I remember moments exactly like that. It really doesn't get any better.

Congrats to you and the Mrs. Babar.

I am so pleased for you and Mrs. Babar. I was very excited to hear the news from GB as I was away for the weekend. I'm so glad I was able to meet the both of you during the summer. Best wishes. Enjoy it while it lasts. Before you know it, he will be 18 and off to college.

The first time I held my niece was probably the happiest moment of my life. It's the only time I felt unconditional, instant love. Even when my nephew was born, it wasn't the same; I guess that feeling was spoiled a bit by my niece, or something.
