Yeah, mom's doing better than expected considering she had a pretty rough labor and delivery. Breastfeeding (which is a ******* miracle, by the way) is going great.

That's certainly the truth. He's an exceptionally cute baby, even by baby standards.

There was a moment earlier, right about the time he turned 48 hours old, when mom was in bed and I was on the couch, with the baby asleep on my chest. Hard to imagine life getting any better than that.

Man, I remember moments exactly like that. It really doesn't get any better.

I am so pleased for you and Mrs. Babar. I was very excited to hear the news from GB as I was away for the weekend. I'm so glad I was able to meet the both of you during the summer. Best wishes. Enjoy it while it lasts. Before you know it, he will be 18 and off to college.

The first time I held my niece was probably the happiest moment of my life. It's the only time I felt unconditional, instant love. Even when my nephew was born, it wasn't the same; I guess that feeling was spoiled a bit by my niece, or something.
