"He picked one of them up and it bit him on the finger, and he was so proud to have copped his first hit," said Irwin's widow, Terri, who noted that the couple's 9-year-old daughter, Bindi, was first bitten by a snake when she was 18 months old.

They took away Britney's kids for less.

Occupational hazard with being a zoo-keeper, I guess. Plus, it was only a boa. Yeah, they're mean-tempered, but at least it wasn't a rattler, cobra or one of the gazillion lethal species they have slithering around in Australia.

A 4-year-old zoo-keeper?

Give it time.
This must be one tough 4-year-old. Most of them would be traumatized, not proud, to get bitten by a large snake. That said, I think the mother is courting some danger with these kids. What's the deal? To keep up her husband's legacy, does she feel the need to keep the kids around dangerous reptiles? I mean, entering your daughter in numerous beauty pageants is one thing. Handing them snakes is another.

These kids are so screwed.

They see their......they SAW their dad letting deadly snakes crawl all over him, messing with alligators, crocs, stingrays, whatever.....

Mama says.."Daddy would want you to do this"

Uh....Daddy died as a result of messing with these damn things.

Granted, I bet these kids kick ass daily at show-n-tell.

Joey......" I brought a yo-yo"
Maggie......"I brought a slinkie"
Little Irwin kid........."I brought a 38-foot python"

I never got the Steve Irwin thing and I'm sick of seeing his little kids running around. For God's sake, their dad died under horrible circumstances. Don't throw 'em in front of a camera, let them be normal kids. His widow and the people around her must be awful....

Amazing what people do for money isn't it?

The story said it was a baby boa constrictor.

About as dangerous as a puppy.

I'm not a big fan of the Erwin clan, but this is no big deal.

Oh, geez.

I may be in the minority on this.

But I'll take the puppy bite first.

Yeah, but when the boa and puppy grow up, who would win that battle?
