Sitting behind an iMac. Why?
Did you go? Were there fights?

On a lark, we drove around last night. At 1:30 a.m., there were people camped out waiting for the doors to Best Buy and Target to open.

This morning, I hear that Wal-Mart was packed at 1 a.m. as people were taking the BF bargains directly off the pallets even before the stockers could set up displays. They then milled around, as the scanners wouldn't register the deals until 5 a.m.

This is horrifying:

Worker dies at Long Island Wal-Mart after being trampled in Black Friday stampede

A worker died after being trampled and a woman miscarried when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island Wal-Mart Friday morning, witnesses said.

The unidentified worker, employed as an overnight stock clerk, tried to hold back the unruly crowds just after the Valley Stream store opened at 5 a.m.

Witnesses said the surging throngs of shoppers knocked the man down. He fell and was stepped on. As he gasped for air, shoppers ran over and around him.

Oooooooookay. Time to shut this stupid-ass **** down.

Absolutely, Bubbs. Time to end these 4 and 5 a.m. ****shows and stop the morons from camping out all night ready to pounce.

I don't think our Boxing Day rushes get that anywhere near that bad.

I know it would be difficult, but I hope the state attorney looks a the in-store video and tries to identify every person who either knocked down the guy who died and the pregnant woman, or anyone who stepped on them.

I hope the families of those two people enjoy their pieces of the Wal-Mart fortune they most assuredly will get in their settlements in a few months.

Maybe the family of the guy who got killed will sue Wal-Mart for inciting a riot. Their sale, their riot.

I went to Wal-Mart at 8 a.m. this morning just to get milk and see how crazy it might be. Not crowded at all and there were plenty of 32'' plasma TVs for $388, which was one of their big bargain deals.

Visiting the parental units in Ohio, watched on the Columbus station last night that hundreds of people were at a local outlet mall last nite, IN THEIR PAJAMAS (temp: 28 degrees). After mustering in the parking lot, mall officials allowed them to stand in line in front of the store of their choice an hour BEFORE it opened. Of course, once they opened things up from the parking lot, you had hundreds of people running to get in line. (Oh, yeah... they were in pajamas for some sort of contest.)

Stupid, stupid ****.

Look at it this way, that's one less worker that has to get benefits. He's collateral damage in the war against Target for profits.

CNNMoney has an article from 30 minutes ago, that has a quote from a Wal-Mart spokesperson on how "busy" it's been. The death is treated as a throwaway mention at the end of the story.

No one else has mentioned a pregnant lady miscarrying. Hopefully, the miscarriage report was erroneous.

Hopefully.

Wal-Mart? Benefits?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH

YOUR exploding medical insurance remains in a losing race to cover uninsured Wal-Mart employees scurrying to
their nearest Emergency Rooms for succor.

And it ain't funny -- it's tragic.

And the devil take the hindmost . . .
