I worked at a baseball card store when that whole fiasco occurred.

I can't overstate how hot the card was at the time. The single cards, as well as the packs and boxes, were just flying off the shelves, and at a great premium as well.

I also remember that was the first time I was ever quoted in the newspaper -- local rag doing the local angle on it. I ran out and bought about 10 copies afterward.

Too bad it didn't happen today. I could have just printed it off the internet and saved the money :-\
