For anyone into it still. We used to get good discussions. Less so, last few seasons.

I wasn't sure what to make of last night.

Too early for predictions, but my top 5 are:

1) Matthew -- the guy with the premature gray hair that the women were going gaga over.
2) Christmas -- she is going to play hard. ... but I don't like her.
3) Cody -- I picked him immediately, but then as the episode went on, he came across as cardboard and a major league ****, and he is going to put a target on himself by being too competitive. He doesn't really belong in my 5, but he is going to be a competition beast.
4) Megan -- the dancer. I don't think others would put her in their top 5, but just a hunch.
5) Paul -- The producers will do a lot to keep him in the game for a while.

My FAVORITE houseguest is Kevin (the old guy from Boston), and I think he had a great night. He pocketed the $25K and nobody was any the wiser. Then he got a friendship bracelet from Paul. And he floated below the radar screen. What I like about him is that usually the old people are horrible competitors. He looks like he is in decent shape and has toughness.

I think others will have the woman who kept saying she was an army interogator among their top picks, but I think she was overplaying that.

I wasn't happythe microbiologist was evicted. He was annoying as anything, but he had the potential to be entertaining by being a goober.

Is anyone else watching?

The Wife watches it religiously, which means I'll be at least following through osmosis. I usually get sucked in to some degree.

Dominique, the token black woman, has "Gone by Week 4" written all over her. Seems like the type that comes in ready to "Play the game!" and then comes out way too hard, forgets it's a marathon and not a sprint, and quickly pisses off so many people that they gang up and bounce her out while she can't figure out why. If I, a casual viewer, can figure out that the first six weeks is really about keeping a low profile and surviving, you'd think the actual contestants could too.

Alex, the cute blonde with the glasses, looks like last year's winner Nicole in disguise. Even the nasally voice is a little similar. It's creepy.

I love that Old Guy Kevin basically said, "**** it," and took the money. Even if the consequence was that by taking it you somehow get evicted on Day 1, the odds are pretty good that $25,000 is more than you'll end up winning anyway. Good gamble.

I didn't care one way or the other about Cameron in the long term, but it does suck that he got evicted on Day 1. He seemed like he was really happy to be there. Hope he wasn't one of those people who quit his job to be on the show.
I've got to think they'll give him some shot to get back in the house, right? Maybe one of the twists with the temptations involves a competition for the first four or five evicted houseguests? Hell, if Nicole can get evicted 17 times last season and wind up winning the whole thing, surely they can give the poor ******* screwed over on Day 1 a second chance.

For those that don't opt for spoilers, I will say only this: Watch it Sunday. Big news.

As for non-spoilery stuff, I'm on the fence about the current HOH. He seems like he's going to be a strong competitor, but jesus... he also seems like a humorless sonuvabitch. Lighten up a bit, dude.

Cody may or may not be a murderer. Legit psychopath.
I think Matt is gonna play well being partnered with him. He's my pick.
Alex is my dark horse. Tiny women tend to do well on the show because they're largely ignored, then they start to perform well in quizzes or endurance comps and go far.
Christmas would be wise to pair with one of the nerds, then try to play with Cody and Matt. Physical dominance, play both sides, sail to the final four.
