I wouldn't call a hand-picked entourage of buddies "babysitters." I'm talking about somebody who is being paid to be there and the only job is to keep Roethlisberger out of trouble.
And slappy, Roethlisberger wasn't told "one more incident and you're gone." He was told that he was suspended for six weeks unless he cleans up his act entirely and gets help. He did the latter, but if this is true, he failed on the former.
It also helped that the Rooneys were on board with whatever the NFL wanted to do with the rape accusation. I wonder if that would be the case over something like this. At this point, they just have to be hoping he can stop doing stupid **** for a few months, come back and play great the last 10 games of the season and then try to trade him. It wasn't going to happen in the middle of the PR mess, but a year later I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone.
