The most famous song the Righteous Brothers ever recorded can't be considered a duet, since Bill Medley didn't sing a note on "Unchained Melody." It was Bobby Hatfield's show from start to finish.

Double J, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell hit the charts with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" first. Diana Ross followed with a similar - and pretty compelling - version of it not too long after she left the Supremes. The Gaye/Terrell was more straightforward, while Ross' version had the spoken word passages.

(On that last point of yours, though, yeah ... I think "You're All I Need To Get By" edges "Your Precious Love." Barely.)
