This was posted to SABR's listserv today, and I'm passing it along. It's a writing gig (nonpaying), but definitely not journalism (as some of the more cynical posters here will surely note from his tone.) Don't know anything about it, so can't offer a recommendation one way or another.

Baseball Digest Daily (www.baseballdigestdaily.com) and Big League Futures are looking
to add a few good writers to our growing staff.

We're primarily searching for candidates who enjoy writing and have good
analytical skills. The goal is to find baseball enthusiasts who are willing
and able to contribute regularly to our blog and provide one featured
article per week. Experience in writing and blogging is preferred but not
necessary.

While the positions are non-paying, they do offer some nice perks. You often
get the chance to attend professional baseball games as "working media,"
interview players and executives, receive team press releases and free
review copies of books and media guides, and get even closer to the game we
all love.

If you are serious about writing for BDD please email me at
[email protected] and provide as much information on your
background as you feel necessary. I will be contacting interested
individuals directly with additional information.

Thank you.

Did I miss the memo? I always thought that bloggers were "poo-poo'd " the pro's. Maybe I am incorrect.

I have no problem with these on our freelance boards, this one certainly is more credible than some other non-paying BLOG! listings we've had recently. But the checks all look the same: invisible.

I took a quick look at the website. I would be inclined to give these people the benefit of the doubt. If you have or want your own blog, this might be a good situation.
