Former AJC staffer here, hanging out my shingle: I have 19 years of experience covering virtually everything that can be covered in and around Atlanta. Tech, UGA, all the pro teams, I've done, and would welcome the chance to do them again. I'd even consider a trek to Southern Tennessee to chase whitewater kayaking, climbing or hiking stories. Any excuse to dip my toes in a mountain river, and if I'm paid to be there, so much the better.
