I would say Dallas over Austin because of the latter's lack of direct flights, but I'd bet money it's somewhere in metro DC. It has three sites left out of 20. Too bad for me if they win. Won't be able to visit my wife's family without a parachute into northern Va.

I fly out of Newark all of the time, especially United. I hate what they have done with bringing all of the food and drink under a single ownership in Terminal C, but the airport is pretty decent.

The city of Newark is still such a political mess that Amazon may not want to get involved.

I have a weird soft spot for Hamilton. It's ugly for a reason. That part of suburban hell by the airport is ugly for no good reason. I am always embarrassed when I pick up visitors—usually my Welsh relatives—who are expecting to see moose drinking from clear rivers and we have to spend a hour driving through the most soulless part of the entire world.

I grew up, and I believe Huggy did as well, about 10km from “the most soulless part of the entire world.” Driving by the airport now, I get anxious almost immediately. The roads are full of cabbies who have no ****ing clue how to do their jobs, and every building in the area could have used a sandblast 20 years ago.

Was disappointed to see that Connecticut’s two contenders from my area, Bridgeport and Stamford, didn’t make the cut. Then again, Bridgeport recently re-elected a mayor who spent years in prison for corruption, and the former mayor of Stamford, Dan Malloy, is currently the worst governor in the country. I’m gonna keep my eyes on this Amazon; they seem smart and might have a future.

It’s going to take some time, once the decision is made, for a headquarters/campus to be built, and filled with 50,000 workers.

I believe the figure cited here was 5000 jobs a year for 10 years.

I thought that when Arlington voted to build a new stadium for the Rangers there were already redevelopment plans for the old park. What, if anything, is being planned?

I think they have some loose ideas, but nothing set.
