We found out today that our Alabama beat writer, Tom Murphy, is leaving. This is obviously a hugely important beat for us. Not only is it critical that we make a great hire, but we have to act quickly with football season approaching. The successful candidate will live in Tuscaloosa and must have a passion for breaking news, telling compelling stories and competing on one of the most high-profile college beats in the country.
