Finally getting to the deficiencies in the Titan beyond the game controller, yikes, its chilling.

Simply the cylindrical vs sphere shape is troubling at those depths;

the use of multiple components, carbon fiber hull and titanium cylinders, made seams as weak spots (instead of a homogeneous unit);

plus the application of the seam epoxy in an open, not dust-free, environment.
The Titan Submersible Was Designed And Built Even Worse Than You Think

Can't get this earworm outta my head so I figured I'd share it.

We all lived a life of ease (a life of ease)
Every one of us (every one of us)
Had all we need (had all we need)
Sky of blue (sky of blue)
And sea of green (sea of green)
In our ****ty (in our ****ty)
Submarine (submarine, ahaaaa)

We all died in a ****ty submarine
A ****ty submarine, a ****ty submarine.
We all died in a ****ty submarine
A ****ty submarine, a ****ty submarine.

I was freaked out enough by Sebastian Junger's chapter on the physiology of drowning in The Perfect Storm - one of the most horrifying chapters of any book I've ever read - do not want to even ponder how the body "experiences" sudden pressurization.
