Sorry if this is already on here somewhere. And apologies moddy for not putting this in the Olympic thread.

But Nike did outstanding here with this commercial. Enjoy!!

No problem with the song, but dude, the entire video is in slow motion.

Kinda hated it.

Not a big fan of that version of the anthem, or any version in which the singer turns it into a remix. And the basketball footage was nothing special.

Just didn't work for me.

Would have been better as an Olympic commercial had they used athletes from different sports rather than focusing on the most over exposed athletes in the world.

Decent commercial, but Nike has done much better.

The Tiger Woods commercial with his father during the Open beats this commercial like a French leg.

Heck, Tiger juggling the golf ball on his wedge beats it.

Fabulous commercial. Ranks among the best that Nike has ever done.

I don't care if he's Marvin Gaye, singing the anthem is not about YOU. We don't want a soul anthem, a country anthem, a R&B or a hip hop anthem.

Just sing the damn thing in a minute and get off the damn floor/turf/ice.

That goes for O Canada.

Nothing terribly creative about the commercial

Agreed. And where was Tay-Tay didn't even see him in the commercial?

Yeah, wasn't that impressed with the commercial. To be honest, I like the one they've been showing with all the athlete clips backed by that Killers song a lot more. Even if they had to use the ****ing lamest line in the song ("I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier") it's still pretty good.

That was 2 1/2 minutes I'll never get back.

Oooh practice video over a REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY long and overrated version of the anthem? No thanks.

Marvin was the only innovator
But nothing can compare
Nothing can compare ...

... When Carl Lewis sings

When Carl Lewis sings, I hear violins
When Carl Lewis sings, I forget everything.

It's much cooler if you know the backstory of Coach K playing this song to inspire the crew recently and their reaction to that. They had a piece about it on sportscenter or one of the other shows recently.

Agree 100%.

I don't care who you are or how big of a star you are, just sing the song the way it was ****ing written. It's not yours, it's the country's, so don't try and make it your own.

Um, everyone makes it their own. It's supposed to be an uptempo song sung to the tune of a British drinking song.

WE have turned it into a drawn out production.

I had heard that before and forgotten it, so I went to go look up the original lyrics. Talk about an awkward song to sing.
