5d or 10d

shooting high school football at a couple of pretty well-lighted stadiums. just bought a canon 70-200 2.8 lens and i have a choice of using a canon 5d or canon 10d camera, which are both in pristine condition. any preferences for one over the other here in sj land?

Of the two, I prefer the 5d. But for what you're likely to do with it your real focus should be on the lens. A 2.8 isn't going to give you an amazing depth of field or anything, though if you're a good photographer you should be able to create some very visually impressive shots.

i've been able to get some pretty good shots using a canon rebel and a 5.6 28-135 lens as long as i have decent lighting, which the two stadiums i'm shooting at fortunately have, especially for high school. but even with the decent lighting, the later the game gets and the later in the fall it gets, the lighting was a concern. not so much worried about the depth of field as i am in getting the action stopped, in focus and light enough to see without so much graininess. i'll never pretend to be a photojournalist but i'm a pretty good photographer as a reporter.

You definitely need 2.8 glass for low light.
