‘40-Year-Old Virgin’ actor accused of stabbing girlfriend 20-plus times

By ALLISON HOFFMAN • Associated Press • August 12, 2008

SAN DIEGO — An actor who appeared in “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” was charged with attempted murder today after police said he stabbed his former girlfriend more than 20 times.

Shelley Malil, 43, remained in custody on $2 million bail. He was arrested late Monday as he left a train in Oceanside, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

Malil was charged late Monday with attempted murder and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Vista, north of San Diego, said Paul Levikow, a spokesman for the San Diego County District Attorney’s office.

Authorities confirmed the victim’s identity as Kendra Beebe. According to her Facebook page, she is a 35-year-old mother of two who works as an insurance broker in Carlsbad, a coastal suburb.

She was listed in critical condition Monday, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. Spokeswoman Jan Caldwell said Tuesday she had no update on Beebe’s condition.

Shouldn't that be 'allegedly' or 'charged with' in the subject line, Mr. Slappy?

Today's forecast? Dark and cloudy, and chance of murder.

Story says he's charged with stabbing the woman ... not that he did it.

And police say a lot of things ... and some officers don't think of it as 'lying' if they're not under oath.

Yes.

Now go.

I'm pretty sure this is the same guy who was the "suspected in-house terrorist" in the 9/11 West Wing episode. If it is the same guy, his bit part in that was rather moving.
At one point, he and Leo get into pretty heated argument and he tells Leo off re: his generalization of Arabs.

jesus slappy, why did you ruin this man's chances at a college scholarship?

Negative. That was Ajay Naidu, in the oft-trashed 9/11 special ep "Isaac and Ishmael". Though Malil did have a WW part, in "Two Cathedrals" according to imdb.com. Though I can still recite the TC speech in Latin, I don't remember Malil as "Renfro," tho.
