I was laughing at the way the players came through the dignitary handshake line while getting their medals. They barely acknowledged Trump — but not in a disrespectful way, almost in a they had no clue who he is way. They pretty much did the same with Claudia Sheinbaum. Two world leaders and they might as well have been any random FIFA executive as far as those players were concerned.

One of the two teams played 120 minutes and couldn't make a shot on goal. If you think that's exciting I've got nothing for you.
I'd counter with the other team played 105 minutes before it could score because the opposing keeper was outstanding, and even at the very end the team that couldn't score and was a man down had several chances to tie it in the final few minutes.
There were soccer purists complaining that yesterday's 6-4 game was boring because there was no defense. Now people are complaining that a 1-0 game with plenty of great defense was boring. People need to pick a lane. It's about energy, not the score, and this game had plenty of energy.

Martinez made 1 decent save. Argentina didn’t belong on the same field and brought nothing to the game other than petty dark arts

Spain and Argentina - two countries with great governmental history - played in the soccer World Cup today. World Cup. Nobody had really heard of it until this year. All the players really loved me. Spoke Spanish or Portuguese or some kind of langue. Foreigners you know. Look out for ICE. They all walked by, shook my hand, and said "pendejo." Pen-de-jo. I think it's their language for president. That's me. I'm their favorite pendejo gordo.

Third-place game didn't have much defense, yes. Boring? No way in hell. That second half was edge-of-your-seat exciting the whole 50+ minutes, so many great plays.
