I can't believe it's been 15 years already that Justin Rose burst onto the scene as a teenager at Birkdale. Who knows what might've happened if he'd stayed amateur for another year or two and started touring with a more mature base..

I was hoping Johnny Miller would come in when Hicks mentioned what a gracious runner-up Mickelson was. "Well, he's had enough practice."

A good final hour. Scores were tight. I do like courses that offer more of a risk and reward. Merion was set up to be all risk. I do enjoy seeing golfers scramble, I just wish some great shots were better rewarded.
