Adele sweeps four of the first five.

The Band Perry for Top New Artist. If Minaj beats them, I will claw my eyes out.

Rooting for Bon Iver, purely for the kicks from the hysterical overreaction it will cause (though Barbra Streisand's WTF opening the envelope is hard to top).

Also, Shelton's "Honey Bee" was my guilty pleasure this past year. :D

It's gonna be that stupid ****ing dirt road ****, though. What a waste of airtime that mother****er is.

I'm surprised they didn't nominate Adele for "Best New Artist." Given their standards for that award, I can't imagine the fact that she won it a few years ago would disqualify her.

Just youtubed it. Had never heard it. It is terrible.

I think there's money to be made betting The Band Perry as Best New Artist. Nicki Minaj is a prohibitive favorite, and falls into the demographic of the person who traditionally wins BNA -- young solo female. But with a young female fronting The Band Perry, they could get in there ala Evanescence from 2004.

Adele will win everything she's nominated for.

I had a passing interest in watching the Grammy Awards before last night. Now, I will be all over it. I love Adele; I know nothing about The Band Perry. Gonna check them out now...

Jennifer Hudson to do the Whitney tribute tonight http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2012/02/grammy-awards-preview-jennifer-hudsons-tribute-to-whitney-houston-and-more/

Unable to watch another moment of golf or basketball today, I flipped over to the red carpet way too early.

Adele has arrived, looking as if she was on her way to sing La Traviata at the Met, and accidentally ended up at the Grammys. Way too elegant for this crowd.

What do they talk about, I'm trying to remember, when an icon doesn't die the night before? Waiting for one of these youngsters to say, 'um, yeah, I don't really know who she is....'

Okay, someone named Sasha has built a machine gun onto her arm, goes nicely with her pink dress.

Katy Perry with blue hair. Some weird Violet Beauregard thing going on here.

Maybe Bruce will deep-six "We Take Care Of Our Own" and do an a capella version of "I Will Always Love You."

Nicki Minaj, shrouded in red, has arrived with the pope.

Probably no one will notice.

I love her rapping, can't stand her "persona" or "style" I guess.

What channel are you watching? E?

Just flipped over. Jessie J's dress looks impossible to walk in, but very cool.

EDIT: They just showed her on the red carpet instead of in the 360, and it looks much less well-fit. Kind of pooched around her pooch, and I didn't love it as much.

I really hope Mumford brings home a couple of awards.
