crimsonace said:In Indiana, you don't have the option to take your team off the floor. There is no running clock rule, and it is considered a SERIOUS violation of IHSAA bylaws to quit a game early.
NFHSA Basketball Rule Book, Rule 3-1-1
SECTION 1: TEAM, CAPTAIN.
ART. 1: A team shall consist of five players, one of which is the captain.
NOTE: A team must begin the game with five players, but if it has no substitutes to replace injured or disqualified players, it must continue with less than five. When there is only one player participating for a team, the team shall forfeit the game, unless the referee believes that team has an opportunity to win the game.
If you're getting beat by 50-some at halftime, you probably already have some players in foul trouble anyway. Tell them to go out and commit intentional fouls on every single play (offense and defense). Then tell ALL your players to do it.
Nothing violent, nothing rough. Just a bear hug around the midsection.
Sure you'll get called for the intentional fouls (2 shots plus the ball) on every play. Who give a ****? You're already down 50 and more.
Commit a couple dozen of them, foul your whole roster out, and you can get on the bus and go home.
Of course, you could have players develop mysterious "injuries," too.
