Course is wet but playable today but the USGA is offering refunds to those who don't want to come out and slog it. That's nice.

Steve Sands, ever the idiot, just said Oakmont is "ten to 15 minutes outside of Pittsburgh."

Oakmont must be the new Lake Tahoe.
Rich Lerner said Friday night on Live From that rain showers can always pop up this time of the year in the Northeast.
Pittsburgh is in the Northeast?
Oakmont to Firestone is 177 miles closer than it is to Merion.

Yeah, I just saw the shot of Pittsburgh, which isn't much different from the times we get shots of Manhattan during a broadcast of Rutgers - in Piscataway.

Thing is Oakmont is 15 MILES from Pittsburgh, which can be a 45 minute drive.

Has been this week. For me, not a local and staying near Mt. Lebanon, it gets a little harrowing in the evening nearing the Fort Pitt tunnel with lanes going every which way. But coming out of the tunnel in the morning into the city is terrific.

Tyrell Hatton heating up down the stretch. If can finish at even par, he might be the leader by the end of the third round.

Rory could have gone a number of ways after becoming a Grand Slam champ but "insufferable diva" wasn't what I expected.

Shouldn't he be more pissed at the leaker than the media? Makes no sense. And generally, golf media is pretty damn soft. Though, things have changed with how much stuff gets tossed around on social media. He's smart enough to know that's not media. Though, it's a convenient excuse, and has been for a long time, for people to blame "the media" for anything that bothers them.

I do think it would be better to test all the equipment, to be fair. Not sure if Rory or Scheffler said that. Still, not an excuse for his little tantrum.

The diva turn is really, really annoying.

It's the definition of "slog" out there today. Yeah, get in at even par today and you'll be in pretty good shape for Sunday.

That rain came down pretty hard for a bit. Unreal how great these guys can still play in it.

For me, moisture is an absolute killer. Slick grips get in my head, either rain or in hot weather the way I sweat like Patrick Ewing in double overtime.

Which reminds me, gotta get some rosin or stick-um in my bag for the sweaty summer months. I'm all ears if anyone has a go-to for tacky grips. Mine are about a year old, so not worn.

He's having a golf midlife crisis. He finally won the Masters, now he's going "is this all there is?" He wants to transfer his feelings to a target. The media is always there, and hence always an available target.
