The lady and I celebrate our one-year anniversary in July. What's the deal? Is there something in particular I'm supposed to get as a gift? All I have planned right now is a nice dinner, and I don't even have a place picked out yet.

For those of you who've been there, what's worked? What hasn't?

For the one year anniversary, I took the lady out to the place where we had our first date, bought her flowers and generally swept her off her feet. The key is to communicate with the person and find out what is special to them and then do your darndest to make it a night to remember.

Congratulations on the milestone. My wife and I mark our 10-year anniversary today.

While moments like this are nice, I wouldn't worry about making it ultra special. A nice dinner, some flowers, a meaningful road trip, a small token to let your wife know how important she is in your life. But if you do these things consistently throughout the year -- building a relationship on respect, love and friendship -- then one silly little day out of the year shouldn't be all that important. In the end, it's just a day.

First anniversary gift is traditionally paper.

Nothing is as thoughtful and personal as a book.

Congrats.

Queencreole was nine months pregnant for our first anniversary. All she wanted was a foot rub and some Mexican food. Bought her some diamond earrings too, but I don't think she gave two ounces of **** about those as she did about the chicken enchiladas.

And didn't you feel like a dumbass. ;)

I haven't read everyone's responses, but my first-year anniversary was early June.

The one year anniversary is supposed to be "paper" so I took our marriage certificate and had it nicely framed.

Also, I was planning to get her "the other wedding band" that goes on the other side of the engagement ring. But we just had a baby and the wifey was complaining about "being fat still!" So, I went with diamond earings instead because he fingers are still a little chubby.

You're Ryan Sonner. You're so good, your wife thanks you for the orgasm before you have even finished foreplay. Why are you asking us mere mortals?

Good point, but some of the suggestions so far have been solid. Keep 'em coming, people. I wanna hear from the ladies, too, if we have any married ones lurking around.
