You cannot possibly believe this. The oceans are going to rise. Much of the world population lives beside water. How do we pay to move billions away from the oceans? And the water wars are coming, spurred by climate change. More extreme droughts, more areas without water, fewer resources for more people. It's not because we're more comfortable. 60°. It is because swaths of the world that we live in will become untenable.
Adjustments like having air conditioning in Europe? Agreed.
Adjustments like fully embracing nuclear power and turning the volume way down on stories from 40 and 45 years ago? Agreed.
The adjustments the “how dare you!” Activists prefer are, curiously, new collectivist suffering. Because it’s not about climate change. It’s “**** humanity” leftism disguised as concern for the planet.

You don't. It's up to each individual to face whatever consequences are coming or to adjust accordingly. Just as it's up to me to put up my storm shutters for a hurricane I have no way of stopping.
We've had a half-century notice. And we insist even more on living in the most vulnerable places because government will come to the rescue and save me.
Miami had just over 1,000 residents when it was incorporated. Nobody forced millions to move there.

What parts of the country aren't more vulnerable due to climate change? Where can you live to avoid the effects of sea rise, drought, wildfires, F5 tornadoes, derechos, flash flooding and extreme heat?

So it's up to each and every person who lives in the gigantic metropolis of South Florida to move that gigantic metropolis? I'm sorry, major metropolitan areas under threat of being eaten by the ocean is not the equivalent putting hurricane shutters on your house. And I don't think anyone here is going to buy the bull**** that it is.

It's almost as if there are not people dying all over Europe right now because of high temps.
But who cares right? F*** them. They're not Americans, not smart enough to have air conditioning even though their cities have never needed air conditioning because the globe wasn't warm enough for them to need air conditioning. And now that the Earth is warm enough that they need the air conditioning it is their own f****** fault for not having air conditioning. Did I do that right?

Also, it has been well documented in these United States of America, that there is an entire class of people who do not have enough money to evacuate when a hurricane comes. The idea that these people can move to protect themselves from the coming catastrophe that is global warming is patently ridiculous.

And 50 years ago, plus every year since, the naysayers have always advised going the Bobby Knight route since there was nothing to be done. Turns out there was quite a bit that could have been done but we lacked the sufficient will to do so (with a mighty boost from the fossil fuel lobby to keep it that way).

Hell, Trump is still killing wind power farms. Alabama Power goes out of their way to make rooftop solar not pay for itself because they are still committed to coal generation. Portugal gets 80% of it's electricity from wind, solar, and tidal generation. Hell, we could run solar down thousands of miles of interstate median without having to buy up land if we were willing to commit to changing things.
There are a lot of deep pocketed corporations who are paying politicians because they don't want change.

I have yet to understand why every municipal and state building doesn't have solar panels on it. Courthouse? Solar panels. City hall? Solar. Public schools? Solar. Libraries? Solar.

Parking lots? Solar.
Our city paired with a solar company to put these solar panel awnings on the parking lot where our biggest farmer's market is held. They provide shade and rain protection for vendors, while also giving them electricity. It's one of the more innovative things this town has done in the past 20 years.

The day they put up canopies to shade the stands in SEC stadiums and pay for it by sticking solar panels on top, that form of power will get much more popular in these parts.
