A Tipping Question

It was more of a comment on the only states where I wouldn't shake my head about gas station tip jars would be NJ and Oregon.

A recent Uber driver I had placed a tip jar on his console with a prominent note that tips are allowed, accepted and encouraged. My son and I go back and forth all the time on tipping Uber drivers.

Never seen one in a gas station but I pay the guy at the window and don't go inside. I like the cheaper prices and not pumping the gas

I'll tip $3-$5 at a buffet, or a Sizzler-type place where you order at the counter and someone brings your order and drinks.

No tips at fast casual. That's an advantage at those places, generally good food without the 20 percent surcharge for service.

I have a mower being delivered today. Thinking I should tip the guy, but how much?

What will they do? Roll it off the back of a truck into your driveway? Give the guy $20. If he has to do unpacking and/or set up, then you may want to offer more.

No, but there are exceptions in rural counties from 6 p.m.- 6 a.m. Legislature just passed a bill allowing for more self-service.

What about Sonic when they walk.skate the food to your car.

I usually let the server keep the change, but now that there's an option to pay through the order board, no tip. That's a place if they offered the option I would probably add $1
