A teen tweeted that she told Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback that he sucked during a visit to Topeka. The teen never spoke to the governor, but the governor's PR flunkies found the tweet while doing a search for any mention of their boss. The flunkies contacted the principal to demand the teen write an apology letter. The teen refused.

Don't political flunkies have message boards to post on instead of chasing after Twitter users? I guess not.

Well, she's right. Apologize, my ass. For what? That hard-right jerkoff needs to grow a spine.

"Dear Governor,
Perhaps you should spend more time looking after the needs of your constituents, and less time worrying about what an 18-year-old girl writes on twitter.

Yours truly (and, yes, you still suck and won't be getting my vote),
Emma Sullivan"

In a statement Monday, Gov. Sam Brownback acknowledged 18-year-old Emma Sullivan's rights:

"My staff over-reacted to this tweet, and for that I apologize. Freedom of speech is among our most treasured freedoms. I enjoyed speaking to the more than 100 students who participated in the Youth in Government Program at the Kansas Capitol. They are our future. I also want to thank the thousands of Kansas educators who remind us daily of our liberties, as well as the values of civility and decorum. Again, I apologize for our over-reaction."

Seriously, how thin-skinned is this tattletale Brownback? Besides the student in question is a legal adult and thus expecting her to make an apology she doesn't want to give is strange.

I'm not sure Brownback had any knowledge of the tweet before his office got worked up about it. His press secretary sounds like a brainwashed lackey.

This episode also shows that administrators are scared ****less that Brownback is going to slash their budgetary throats if they don't get in line. Hey, the guy cut every bit of arts funding. Why wouldn't he cut off funding to Shawnee Mission East, too?

I would absolutely let her lean through my car window in her A&W uniform.

First Amendment of our beloved constitution:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. ”

Dear Governor's PR staff:

Your poor response has now given this sniveling, useless punk more attention than she ever deserved.

It helps to know what words mean before you use them. Consult a dictionary if you have any questions. You probably have one on your desk, buried under the semen-covered copies of Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin books.

You're all class, Tony.

And by "all," of course, I mean "completely lacking in."

* She chose journalism because “I found the evening news fascinating — especially the stories done by foreign correspondences [sic].”

Let's all move to Kansas! If the governor's staff has nothing else to worry about beyond what teeens tweet, they must be doing something right!

As opposed to bragging about tweeting "you suck." I can see you have no concept at all of the meaning of class.

Sam's been busy enough looking to restrict voting rights, and gerrymandering is always fun, so long as your side is drawing the maps.
