Up to 12 inches falling on Robert E. Lee's head over the next 36 hours in the Old Dominion.

I have lived in Virginia for 10 years, and this could be the biggest snow by far.

Moddy, do you have your shovel ready?

I am going to run to the store right now and but 12 loaves of bread and 10 gallons of milk!!!

Not really, but it's Friday, snow's coming, and I'm hoping for liberty leave.

What is liberty leave? Where you can go home and not count against your leave?

Does that happen often?

Yeah. Maybe once a month, the client will give us from 1-3 hours of liberty leave on Friday. Free, paid leave. Most everyone takes their RDO (regular day off) on Friday, so the building is usually half-full every Friday. You just hope they don't waste liberty leave when you're on RDO.

Every now and then, we'll get 4 hours LL. We'll probably get that on New Year's Eve. Obama's EO gave us a half-day off Xmas Eve, which is nice.

So the point is that Virginia is headed for a major snowfall?

Re: Oh my Tebow snow coming to where we normally do not have oh my Tebow snow

I hear Asheville, N.C. is in line for a buttload of snow today and tomorrow.

My area's supposed to get ***** slapped tomorrow.

Re: Oh my Tebow snow coming to where we normally do not have oh my Tebow snow

here in DC, it's calling for 1-3 inches of snow tonight, up to 12 tomorrow.

What is liberty leave?

It involves a signed letter from the corpse of Jerry Falwell.

Since this is a (somewhat) Virginia-based thread, I would just like to say that I have very mixed emotions about the Ukrops deal. Open on Sundays and alcohol sales: bonus. Same prepared meals: awesome. But no more Ukrops name? Too weird. But it's where I'm headed today to stock up for the weekend. And the liquor store. Baileys and coffee on a snow day? Yes and please.

Just in case your radar isn't working, FHB. ... Braylon Edwards: NOT a jew.

We actually have a half-decent weekend shaping up in the Ontario snow belt, so.....enjoy the wintry blast, Virginia!! Better you than us for a change!!! :D

The bakery is all that I am concerned about staying the same.

Oh, Giant sucks. Kroger will own this town in two years. Too bad Wegmans didn't buy out UKrops.

Bread and milk are for rank amateurs.

Personally, I head up to the liquor store and stock up on beer, wine and Wild Turkey.

Bread and milk, yea right.

Re: Oh my Tebow snow coming to where we normally do not have oh my Tebow snow

I hit Ukrop's last night. Got bags of dog food. And a bunch of other stuff.
I
****ing
hate
snow
with
a
passion

Is it just me or has the Tebow stuff become another SJ run into the ground, never really was funny joke?

Did I mention I hate snow?

Re: Oh my Tebow snow coming to where we normally do not have oh my Tebow snow

Tebow is still funny, in doses. I say that because I think I was the first one to use it, so I'm territorial about it. :D

That being said, 5-10 inches coming up here overnight tomorrow night. I hope it all gets dumped on VA (sorry Modster) and less makes it up here.

Re: Oh my Tebow snow coming to where we normally do not have oh my Tebow snow

I have never been inside a Ukrops but all I can say is Royal Ahold bought the stores, the quality will drop really fast.

Why do people rush to the store when a snowstorm is coming? It usually lasts one day and the roads are cleared within 24 hours? Why the panic?
