On the front page of Yahoo, in one of the four mini-windows, is the headline "Analysts: Drop in gas prices may signal peak."

then the top "In The News" story: "Oil jumps to record of more than $120 a barrel on weak dollar."

Oh. OK then.

I understand there's no predicting this. SO STOP TRYING. There's no predicting what the oil barons will do and what excuses they'll come up with for the ever-rising prices, SO STOP TRYING.

rant over.

I predict there will be no general upward climb in newspaper circulation or advertising revenue.

It's no more ridiculous than trying to predict --- in March with seas calm --- how many hurricanes will form and how many will hit the U.S.

But an "above-average" season is predicted anyway . . . for the 138th year in a row.

And hondo uses it as proof that global warming doesn't exist.

I would love to see some of these oil speculators take it in the shorts like the brothers in Trading Places or the job Bud Fox did in Wall Street with Blue Star.

I predict a cap on baseball players.

One for each, too.

I also predict the cap on a beer will come off in five seconds.

Holy craps, I was right.
