I might not on the heels of a financial scandal, though.

I'd send a million to alma mater and donate $69 million to me.
My average charitable donation would thereby be $35 million a year.
What a guy I am.

Christianity is a pretty expensive religion.

I don't wish I gave my alma mater that type of money.

70 million though reminds me of Oceans 13 and Terry Benedict...

OK, I wouldn't give the money to Ol' State U.

Maybe the student rag, which probably could use some. Remember a former editor-in-chief telling us, "this is the only place at this university that's getting a dime of my money."

Insist on maintaining ridiculously high profit margins at your newspapers to the point you lay off lots of good journalists and then, maybe, you can give $100 million to your alma mater:

Shoot, compared to the $165 million T. Boone Pickens gave to Oklahoma State University's athletic department, this isn't too much.

Then again, I'd like for Frank Batten Sr. to tell that writer who was with the News & Record in Greensboro that he couldn't afford to pay her when she was with the publications for mere days before being cut loose.

Damn, I thought this thread was about T. Boone Pickens, until I saw Sam's thread above.

T. Boone University still has an underachieving football program, regardless if a 40-YEAR OLD MAN is coaching them.

If pay off my student loans before I die, I might celebrate by sending a $20 check to dear old Chowderhead U. to put in the scholarship fund. And that would be that.

I wish I could give $70 million to my college. I wouldn't do it, but it'd be nice to have the option.

That Pickens story is a must-see on HBO Real Sports.

Even if you have to put up with Bryant Gumbel's righteous indignation bull**** at the end.
