Perhaps having their business model being rooted in shopping malls - which are ghost towns now - is as big a problem as the marketing? No matter how good your ad campaign is, you aren’t getting crowds at the mall these days and you’re dumping X per month into rent.

My understanding is there is more info out there about the proper fits for bras, too, and the limited sizing availability from Victoria's Secret is now a turn-off.

Sales are bad, the brand was stuck in 2007 and the product was overpriced. (And the Pink branding went from something young attractive bougie girls were wearing to a staple of late-20’s and early 30’s women who do…uh… not look like Adriana Lima. The brand depended on attractive people — and attractive people alone — wearing its stuff.)

But the Epstein-Wexner connection also made this a obligatory rebrand. When your longtime owner gave over much of his fortune to a sex slavery broker, you cannot keep putting 19-year old models in underwear in your front windows.

At last, sex may not sell.

Or, in 10 years the brand will go back to the angels and it’ll be a gigantic hit once the cultural focus has moved elsewhere.
