"What, they're still around?"

The wife and I were looking for a coffee pot and settled on one from Hamilton Beech. When I suggested it, her first response was, "what, they're still around?"

That got us thinking of other 60s-era companies that are still around, surprisingly...like Magnavox.

A buddy of mine has a nice collection of old football magazines. One of them is a Sporting News preseason college football mag from 1989. One of the headline stories is "Who Will Replace Joe Paterno at Penn State?"

Panasonic (.....Just slightly ahead of our time.) seemed to drop off the screen and then made a comeback with DVD players and now I own one of their TVs
Magnavox.
Westinghouse. We had a big coffee urn thingie when I was a kid and now the brand name is showing up on TVs and appliances although I'm sure that's a licensing deal since the original company makes turbines etc.
