Think of how this race embarasses the GOP. That seat was there for the taking, if they had a halfway decent candidate.
But if the GOP had one, Lamont would never have won the primary...or maybe even challenged Lieberman.

On the other hand, the Democratic voters in Connecticut could have supported a good man who had been loyal to them and his party for years, until they sold him out. They threw away a guaranteed win because the far left in that state had a hissy fit.

Going into vote there were annoying Lamont supporters encouraging a "vote for ned" .

I overheard one gentlmen tell Lamont supporer that he would if he was struck by lightening on his 100 foot walk to the voting booth.
