Waitress to Clinton: Where's my tip?

Pretty funny story on how a waitress got "stiffed" by the Clinton camp, courtesy of my hometown paper:

FWIW, I got a chuckle out of it for a Friday morning, without the partisan cantankering.

Esterday told NPR reporters that Clinton and her entourage didn't tip after ordering $157 worth of food. Clinton staffers, however said they left a $100 tip to be split among the staff that somehow didn't get to Esterday.

Campaign staffers came back today and gave Esterday a $20 tip.

A $20 tip on a $157 bill is something that Clinton and her staffers should be embarrassed about. I get that they said they left a $100 tip, but I’m sorry. If you are going back the next day to give one person more money, at least make it 20%.

I agree. I just don't understand why Clinton, herself, didn't pick up the bill. It isn't as if the bill won't be written off later on, tip included.

I usually write my tips because I pay with my debit card, but on those rare occassions I use cash, I make sure my waitress sees me put my measley $4 on the table so someone doesn't else take it.

I usually leave my tips in cash, whenever I can. Yes, I do it because it's easier for the servers to hide the cash than tip money on the credit card. I know, I am promoting tax hanky-panky, but when it's someone with a base salary of $2.50 per hour who ain't making benefits, I try to make their life easier.
