If you think you’ve heard it all the past few weeks with leaks from Selana Roberts’ bio of Yankees’ slugger A-Rod you better take a deep breath. In a six month investigation IUC has learned Alex Rodriguez has bet on professional sports for years, including major league baseball. This according to a Las Vegas bookie who claims he’s received millions of dollars in bets from A-Rod over the last nine years. “I’ve been following all the hype around Ms. Roberts’ upcoming book,” “Red” told IUC. “But it appears she missed out on covering his biggest crime, betting on pro sports. He’s a compulsive gambler.” “Red” would not reveal whether or not A-Rod bet on Yankees’ games. The last name player to admit gambling was Pete Rose, who was barred from America’s favorite pastime for life. “Rose is an angel compared to Alex,” “Red” added. “Alex is the biggest gambler I’ve ever met amongst athletes. He needs professional help.” Developing… http://ianundercover.com/2009/05/04/iuc-world-exclusive-did-a-rod-bet-on-baseball/

All he needs to do is produce a couple of e-mails or taped telephone conversations and we'll clear up this matter in a few minutes. Absent that, let's go on to the next matter at hand.

Also, A-Rod was the second shooter on the grassy knoll, stole the Lindberg baby, and was spotted attempting to purchase yellow cake uranium in Nigeria.

I knew it! He probably planted the explosives in the Twin Towers too, didn't he?

The last thing to go thru Josh Hancock's head, other than the windshield, was "well, at least I'm giving Armchair_QB an eternity worth of material."

Selig 'very unhappy' Yankee star betting in illegal clubs, newspaper says NBCSports.com news services

NEW YORK - Alex Rodriguez was cautioned by the New York Yankees that playing poker in illegal clubs could be dangerous and harmful to his image, according to a newspaper report.

On Oct. 2, the Daily News reported the star slugger had attended games at an underground club with professional card player Phil Hellmuth.

Playing at such clubs is not illegal, though it can be against the law to operate them, the Daily News reported.

The Daily News said that MLB officials are concerned that one of their top stars is possibly associated with an illegal gambling operation and hanging out with gamblers, who could be betting on baseball games, something that could get Rodriguez banned from baseball should he do the same. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/9896335/

For shame!

He's also used the broadcast of several games without the express written consent of Major League Baseball.

Playing cards in the poker clubs, at the zenith of the poker boom, means he's guilty of "betting millions" through a bookie in Vegas.

And, honestly, what kind of bookie spills the beans on a client like that? If A-Rod is "betting millions," then the bookie is making a ton off the vig. Why kill the golden goose?
