for using non-union painters.

Union workers said they are paid $38 an hour. With benefits, the hourly cost of a union painter is $53 -- about twice what they say non-union workers earn, mostly without benefits.

"I don't think it would be very respectful. I'm agnostic, but that's not right," said neighbor Luis Garcia, 32.

"I don't think it's proper. I understand their gripes. But on the other hand, I don't think people should be forced to use union workers," said Vincent D'Onofrio, 58, who lives a block away.

Even in the Post story (which you know of course would have blown it up over the moon, given the chance), there is no indication that the union members outside were disruptive or threatening to churchgoers. The churchgoers, of course, are the ones screaming "you're going to hell!!!"

Kittle said the demonstration was held after a union organizer spotted what he called dangerous scaffolding at the church, leading him to believe it was a non-union job site.

What happens to the workers who fall off the unsafe scaffolding and break their necks? No benefits -- **** out of luck.

The regularly-scheduled Murdoch Media Conspiracy To Demonize and Destroy Unions can now resume as normal. ;) ;)

The company has to carry insurance for workers who get injured on the job. Try educating yourself.

And I bet they aren't hurting for applicants.

It wasn't the same Vincent D'Onofrio.
