Very interesting to see that a Facebook campaign was behind what they are calling a monumental upset on par with Engelbert Humperdinck ending the Beatles' run of 12 consecutive No. 1 singles.

I've always wondered why the Christmas No. 1 is such a huge deal in the UK, and not at all here.

I think there's a tradition to it, just like the way the single as an entity remains relevent in the UK.

I always loved buying singles. I still have most of my old 45s from the '80s packed away somewhere.....no idea if they'd still play on a turntable if I had one, but I got 'em.
