Well, ****. The lede made it sound like it was random, but I'd like to know if the victims were part of his chain of command, his unit, or otherwise specifically targeted -- like in this case.

Sad, sad, sad. Five soldiers. Probably just walking around the FOB, going to chow, to take a shower, work.

In Washington, Pentagon officials said the shooting happened at a stress clinic, where troops can go for help with the stresses of combat or personal issues. It was unclear whether those killed were workers at the clinic or were there for counseling. No details were released about the gunman.

EDIT: Not trying to be a wise-ass. The story said troops could carry firearms at the base. I was just asking if they were allowed to bring them into the hospital.

Typically, weapons are not allowed in medical facilities. I'm not exactly sure what the polices are over there, but on the deployments in which I've gone into the clinic, weapons are not allowed.
