Sonner, I think you and I would have fun at the blackjack tables.

I treat casinos like I treat amusement parks: I take the money i want to spend, I figure I'm paying for hours of entertainment, and I expect to lose every dime I take in there. That way, if I win, or even just don't lose it all, it's like a bonus.

never go in NEEDING to win to make it home. Just go with the money you can afford to lose, and lose it the most fun way you can. Generally, that means lots of free booze.

I'm hoping to go to Vegas late in the year/early next year for a friend's potential wedding. So mustang, let me know what you figure out. :D

You can come and kick it with me when you get there. I will be in school then.

But what happens when you sit down at a table, hit a run of incredibly crappy cards, and lose your entire day's wad in about 10 minutes? Gotta find something to do with the rest of the day.

Well you don't take the whole wad at once. If you're planning on spending several days, I'd assume you'd take more than $100. You take $200 with you, go gamble. Lose it? Go eat dinner, do something else. Then go get more money out of your room, and gamble more. Budget yourself, don't blow it all at once.

And Sonner, I'm in. I missed the last sj outing in Vegas.

Only problem is ... that might last 15 minutes. Or it might last 5 hours. Or you might quadruple it. Youneverknow.

But those nights when it lasts 15 minutes sure do suck. That was my first gambling experience. The next three were, uhh, a bit more lucrative. :D

Get the **** out of Vegas and go see the Hoover *** and Canyon.

I went to Vegas a couple of summers ago, and found it to be a general waste of time and resources.

Eff that. Gimme the booze and poker tables. You people can have your Hoover Dams and your Canyons. Zzzzzzz.

I'm with Sonner.

Atta girl. I'd tip you with a $5 chip if I had any.

Lose your last one? :)

I've just never been a big fan of gambling. Sure, I can have fun at the blackjack tables. Or, maybe playing craps. Maybe for a few hours one night. Certainly not for an entire weekend or week.

I'd much rather keep my money, travel and see sites like the Canyon, ***, Yosemite, Death Valley, etc., than buy the casino a new waterfall for the grand entrance.

I'm with you, though I don't have a problem with people going gambling. A lot of my friends love to go gamble, but I'd rather go experience cool outdoor things or cities with my money.

Hell, I've lived in the west my entire life and have never been to Vegas, though I suppose I'll go once just to check it out.

Never been to Vegas, but I hope to get a chance to go out there one day. Then again, this is the same person who, at age 24, has never been west of the Mississippi.

Don't worry Kevin, I've only been west of the Mississippi once.

I'm planning on doing a little gambling. Mostly drinking after making some terrible picks at the sportsbook. Actually, I'm more likely to nail some big games early in the week, then think I'm invincible and lose it in craps.

Well, yeah. But what I'm saying is if you have $700 to get you through a week, take $100 down the first night. If you lose it all in 15 minutes, go walk around. Go see the city. Go eat some buffet food. Don't run upstairs and get another $200. And for god's sake, don't bet with all $700 to start with, or that 15 minutes will ruin your whole trip instead of just a portion of it.
