I have bunch of relatives in this town.

Just saw where no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt.

No seatbelts makes it even sadder. Lives could have been saved.

I know folks from Ulysses, too. One girl who died has the same last name as a great buddy of mine. Not sure if there's any relation.

Crashes like this in small towns just ripple through every life there.

Other states have laws forbidding young drivers from carrying other passengers.

I know Maryland has such a law.

That's a damn shame. For those of you who have high school and college-aged kids, remind them to always wear their seatbelt, no matter how far the trip will be.

There was a similar incident the day before in Pennsylvania: teenage driver with teenage passengers pulls out in front of truck, is killed.

That's a damn shame. For those of you who have high school and college-aged kids, remind them to always wear their seatbelt, no matter how far the trip will be.

And no matter how "uncool" it is to wear a seat belt.

I know I hardly wore a seat belt growing up. Getting in an accident when I was in eighth grade changed my mind forever, because while the accident wasn't serious, I could have easily been thrown through the windshield.

I can't remember if the first car I owned even had seat belts — lap belts only, I guess — but in this day and age, as so many have said, there is absolutely no excuse. None. I thought it was habit for every 4- and 5-year-old who climbs into the family's minivan. I know it is for my nieces and nephews.
