DC plane crash

I've heard varying reports that a wheel fell off the plane and hit the truck after clipping a light post, so maybe the plane didn't exactly "run in" to the truck. Still crazy.

I have no expertise here, but a person struck and causing an engine fire sure sounds like that person was sucked into the engine.

Reported the person jumped the perimeter fence and ran onto the runway.

I’ve not seen any reporting as to why.

I keep seeing headlines saying it was a pedestrian. No, it was a trespasser on the tarmac.

In oh-so-friendly Oregon, airplanes have to stop on the runway if there is a pedestrian or bike in the crosswalk or waiting by the crosswalk to cross the runway.

Granted you only saw the end of it, but they seemed pretty low to be trying anything tricky. They weren't the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds. Just two planes from Whidby attached to a carrier group.
