In some ways I don't get why the NY media has turned on Tiki. When he first came to NY the media loved him because he was deemed bright and articulate and a good quote.

Now all those same good quotes allow some to paint Tiki as the bad guy.

I don't get it.

Tiki who?

Torch. Bright right?
Seriously, any athlete that can utter a grammatically sounding sentence is deemed articulate, and when they can utter 2 such sentences in a row, they are deemed bright.

The tragedy of it all, is the scarcity of them, not the misnomer.

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room

All the something something and the flowers bloom
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room

Perhaps it's because he spoke so poorly of Eli; won't let up on Coughlin; and has essentially outed himself as a liar for his reasons behind leaving the team.

And that was just his first two weeks on the air.

On the other hand, anyone who calls out Coach Nutty is OK by me.

I like him. I envy him his enormous teeth. It's like a trip to Finland.

Those tiki torches much be kept lit.

Those seeds must be kept warm.

Gilligan, if those seeds die, WE DIE!

Seriously about this, I think the NY media, as with some on here, are tired of Barber always being the smartest guy in the room in his own mind.

The media isn't turming on Tiki. He's doing this all by/to himself.

The country is turning on him because most folks don't think it's a good look for men to be pouting drama queens.

True as that is, I'm equally sure he's being encouraged by his new employers to stir things up and generate some attention.

Sure, but at this point it appears to be more of a turn-off right now than the sort of thing that makes you want to see what he's got to say next.

Again, true, but they're trying to make him over into a "journalist" who's willing to speak "the truth." They did the same thing with the Bus when they hired him.

He showed no mercy to Eli Manning, rather than making constructive criticism. And now that he claims that he's been misquoted in his own book, yeah, his act has grown old to a lot of people already.

Tiki really needs to STFU, in my mind.

He's the only guy who could make Michael Effing Irvin -- I didn't agree with the whole distraction crap at first, but after hearing Tiki whine, Irvin was proved right -- sound like Nostradamus.

But when the Bus comes out and tells the truth, it's about him faking an injury to avoid getting cut. That's an interesting insight to me into how the NFL sometimes works. Last season the rest of the NBC panel would always rip on him because he wouldn't say anything bad about the Steelers.

On the other hand, Tiki has done nothing but rip. Give me some insight as to why things are going wrong, not that they're going wrong and it's Manning's/Coughlin's/Whomever's fault.
