The black market from Nevada, Arizona Oregon will be busy

Ban On Skittles, Popular Candies And Drinks Passes CA Assembly | San Diego, CA Patch

The bill would ban the manufacture, sale and distribution of foods and drinks containing brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben, red dye No. 3, or titanium dioxide starting in 2025.

The long list of foods and drinks that contain one or more of those ingredients include Skittles, Hot Tamales, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, Starburst, Orange Crush and Mountain Dew.

Hot Tamales, Nerds

2 of the many things I'd buy every Sunday morning before temple.

Phased out the Hot Tamales and increased the Nerds intake by a lot for a few years.

Nerds are under-rated. And are they seriously going to ban Mountain Dew? I don’t drink it, but I know a lot of people who would be devastated by this news.

They're the government, they're here to help you.

Idealistic twatwaffles. Handing out drugs and druggin' accessories is fine, but Hot Tamales, Skittles and Dew is bad. SMH

Hot Tamales > Skittles

Looks like the stuff in question has been banned in Europe for more than a decade, so the big brand stuff likely already has the replacement recipe on deck. No way is PepsiCo going to shrug its shoulders and say “guess we aren’t selling in the biggest state in the country anymore.”

This.

Besides, California already put in weird "free-range" rules for all chicken, eggs and pork. It basically isn't. But farms figured it out. We still have all the things. They're more expensive, but they're there.

See also cars.

Hot Tamales > Skittles

Well, um, they are bad. Just because we view them as harmless doesn't mean they are.

I say that as someone who has put away his fair share of both Skittles and Mountain Dew over the years. I also say it as someone who grew up with Pepsi employing my Dad for 35 years.

I had the same initial reaction you did, but if you get past the bull**** excuses we make up to justify unhealthy behavior, I'm not sure gobbling a bunch of harmful additivies can really be justified by anyone with a shred of intelligence.

I think a total ban is a bit much, much like alcohol or mild drugs, if adults want to harm themselves, so be it, but an age-restricted one? Not sure how that can be argued as a bad idea.

Visiting California next month and can't wait to take in the sights and tell as many people as possible what a state of ****wads this is.

Chewy Spree tastes like disappointment. Disappointed you thought they were the real ones.

Skittles are the devil's anal warts.

Me reading this thread: Skittles are probably terrible for me and goodness knows what's in there but ******* they are so good I can't not eat them.

Me after finishing this thread: Well, Swingline just called them the devil's anal warts and now that's all I can think about so I'm not eating Skittles anymore.

**** you very much, Swingline! :D
