What impartial court hears these charges? I honestly don't know. But this agency better make it stick, or their credibility and power will be destroyed.

I believe it's heard in front of a USADA court, not a court of law.

It didn't have to be a law court, but for the agency to act as judge and prosecution is such an obvious travesty that only Americans' hysteria about drugs could possibly allow this to take place. It's clearly an act of vindictive frustration, supported by many vindictive and self-righteous sports followers.

Yeah, I'm a Lance honk. Yeah, I've got a picture of us together in my house. Yeah, I think he "rode on a level playing field with his contemporaries" and he still beat them. He was tested and tested and tested and been through a dozen legal proceedings and they couldn't hang anything on him. He last won the Tour seven years ago. If you didn't catch him (or anyone) in competition, unlucky. Try better next time. Quite wasting everyone's time and money.

While I'm about 99.9 percent sure Armstrong was a drug cheat, here's the thing I've never understood about the long-running quest to "catch" him: Everybody else in the sport cheats, too.

The overwhelming indignation about his titles makes it seem as if he was racing against a field of clean riders when everyone who knows anything about cycling knows that is the furthest thing from the truth.

Waste of time, IMHO.

According to the USADA Website, the appeals process involves outside personnel ...

USADA has developed and instituted an adjudication program that is fair and credible when an athlete is found to be in violation of anti-doping rules and regulations. USADA's adjudication process relies on an American Arbitration Association (AAA)/Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) arbitrated hearing under modified AAA Commercial Rules.

OK, that's better. I think it's pointless for them to do this, since opinions on Armstrong are set in stone and it will take something like a videotape of him shooting up to change them any, but it's not a complete sham.

Fair enough, but if you're going to make an example out of anybody in an effort to clean up the sport, isn't Armstrong the perfect candidate?

He just broke a triathalon record in Hawaii by 6 mintues, I don't think they can let this get a lot farther. CBS says he would be banned from all sports

He's immediately banned just due to the charges. He'll have to be cleared to participate in the Ironman in Hawaii later in the year.

As for the half-Ironman course record he set in Kona, he only won by about three minutes. The second-place finisher smashed the course record too. And the women's course record was broken on the same day by about two minutes.

Good Lord, when did they put **** Pound in charge of the USADA.

This is WADA level bull**** at its finest. I now eagerly await the retroactive investigatin of Carl Lewis and the rightful presentation of the 100 m gold to Ben Johnson.
