The only way we lose the "war on terror" is by sacrificing the things that have made this country special. No amount of terrorism can conquer our country unless we are complicit with the surrender of our identity and freedoms.

The people who so readily sacrifice our values in the name of security are more dangerous than any current foreign threat.

Corporate America has already sacrificed what made this country special. And the politicos of this time? Can you imagine a Congressman leading this country to battle like Washington? (I'll let someone else pick up on the similar question for Bush).

I'm not sure how your "suicide" distinction somehow inoculates us against the killing of civilians.

In fact, 60 Minutes was surprised to hear this: while the enemy has killed hundreds of civilians this year, a similar number of civilians have been killed by American forces.

Difference is we aren't targeting them.

And there has never been a war fought that did not result in civiilian casualties so spare us this bull**** argument.

As I said, there has never been a war fought in which civilians weren't caught in the crossfire. While it's horrible it's also unavoidable.

Saying that accidental civilian deaths in Iraq prove we've "stooped to their level" is horse**** of the highest order.

Maybe we really aren't better than they are.
We like to think we are. We like to say we are.
But the conduct of the current administration and the number of people who still support our Moron in Chief and his band of war criminals seems to indicate we might not be any better than they are.
