The subhead of the RGIII article says the Browns are the blackest organization in the NFL. Then it's barely touched on in the article. Just a paragraph about the coach, GM, and offensive/defensive coordinators being black.

Would like to see a story on what the subhead implies.

I doubt many non-blacks are judging Cam Newton's safe (or unsafe) blackness based on celebrations and standoffishness if they're even equating celebrations and standoffishness with being black. Is Cam an unsafe black when he's standoffish but a pretty safe black when he's giving balls he rushed into the end zone with to little white boys and girls?

Never understood how Newton was held up as some kind of standard bearer for blackness. Because of dabbing? He smiles a lot and calls himself Superman, just about the whitest super hero there is. His touchdown stuff obviously rankles some people, especially when it's paired with him sulking like a baby when stuff doesn't go right. Gonna be interested to see how he responds to all the negative super bowl criticism.

The doc of him was terrific. Had not realized the context of his "we talking about practice" quote. Might have been the worst instance I've ever seen of an athlete's quote being taken out of context. Fwiw, he was upset bc his best friend had died and he was angry that people wanted to talk about practice, not that he didn't need to practice
