Can you feel the excitement? :P

Honestly, how are these teams getting covered in the markets they are at? Anyone actually going to be a "beat writer", any blogs, vlogs, tweets, etc?
Hey, football is football and I plan on watching bits and pieces next Thursday (yes, for those not paying attention, the league starts Thursday at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST) as California takes on Vegas. Morbid curiosity? Maybe.

To quote Jack Benny, "There will now be a short pause while everyone says, 'Who cares.' " :)
And this UFL is on television?

It's just so easy to tweak you NFL guys and somebody always is guaranteed to take the bait.

Don't mistake me for someone who has a strong opinion on the matter. I do not. I enjoy football. I enjoy gambling. It's a win-win for me.

I've just noticed that about 382 threads have been littered with that debate. Just figured you'd be tired of it by now. That's all.

So ... the UFL's alleged goal is to serve markets 'underserved by the NFL.'

And so it put a team in ... New York.

I can't believe they're going to be allowed to play a game at Giants Stadium.

Who is their TV contract with? Versus? If that is the case, I won't be able to watch because Comcast Cable (AKA Bombast in my book) dropped Versus in the spring in my area.

In order to show that the league is legit, there has to be a team in New York.

Will Vegas post odds on these games?
yes

Not a chance. For several reasons, not the least of which is that college/NFL is the betting king of Vegas and all but unbeatable for gamblers in the long-term. Casinos aren't going to divert bettors' attention with this crap.

Wait...why did Comcast drop a channel that they own?

Comcast dropped Versus. Not likely.

I just saw a commercial a couple of days ago saying to order DirecTV if you want to watch the NHL because Comcast dropped Versus.

Just checked the Comcast channel lineup for my area and Versus is still there. I wonder what was up with that commercial then.

Think you might have it backwards. I thought I read that DirecTV dropped Versus.

You must have misunderstood the commercial. DirecTV and Comcast are involved in a dispute over Versus. DirecTV pulled (or was forced to, depending on what company's perspective you read) Versus on Sept. 1. Comcast wants more money and DirecTV wants to put the channel on a higher tier.

If you start dividing up teams by population, New York's metro area could probably have like seven from every league and not be overserved.
