Low chances of the D Day double.
Between the Joe Rogan-esqe PA announcer and the anthem singer who sounded like he was having a stroke, we are off to a terrible start.
And giving up a goal in the first minute lowered the chances.
Don't let Chicago catch you criticizing Jim Cornelison (I don't like him either).
I don't remember all the circumstances but as far as I know his departure from NBC was on positive terms. He ran for president of US Soccer after the 2018 debacle (stepping away from TV for that time), but his exit from NBC coincided with the pandemic and with a divorce from his wife (Susan Sarandon's daughter) so maybe he just decided he needed it.

I really have a difficult time accepting players not wearing shin guards. A couple of the Germans basically have on ankle socks.

Last week, while I was covering state baseball title games, a colleague covering futbol said a coach was carded for a kid not wearing shinguards – in a state title match.

So it's OK for Samba to armbar, obstruct, pull down by the shoulders and do EVERYTHING but play defense with your feet?
Do something about this. Samba isn't playing defense. It's mugging - plain and simple. Pull the manager and captain and make clear that it stops or there are cards and sendoffs. This stopped becoming futbol more than 20 actual playing minutes ago.

Went back to watch US-Samba women from Tuesday ... was busy watching some hockey game ...
Match featured 18 cards, eight of them red. Four of Samba's coaches - including the head - tossed. Two of their players sent off during the match, two more following the final whistle for mouth. As a former soccer official in my family said, that will be scrutinized at clinics for years.
