I'm stepping up and admitting:
I am 45 years old and I have never seen 'Risky Business,' 'Footloose,' 'Top Gun,' 'Roadhouse,' 'Dirty Dancing' or' Point Break.'

They're more cultural touchstones than anything else. None are essential cinema.

Now, if you haven't seen At Close Range, get on that.

If you're going to try to see at least one of those, I definitely recommend "Risky Business," although "Road House" and "Top Gun" are a hell of a lot of fun, too. The others I'm all pretty 'meh' on.

If you haven't listened to the Roadhouse episode of the How Did This Get Made? podcast, do yourself a favor and look it up.

Risky Business is worth it for Rebecca de Mornay (obviously) and the five-minute cameo by Richard Masur.
"It's not quite Ivy League, now is it Joel?"

I haven't seen that, but I'll put it in the Netflix queue.

I love 'State of Grace.'

I'll go so far as to say Walken's never been better than he is in At Close Range. Maybe King of New York.

Oh yeah! Until this comment I couldn't place the movie. Been a looong time since I saw it, but it really is tremendous.

Saw Footloose on the largest non-IMAX screen in Ohio just a couple weeks ago. Just $5!

State of Grace is a classic. Probably would have been more widely acclaimed if it didn't come out the same time as Goodfellas. It says that on wiki, but I remember my buddy saying that when I watched it on VHS for the first time about a year after it was in theaters.
