In Weatherford tonight, ate at a place on West Main called Luigi's, a plate of shrimp primavera. Absolutely fabulous.

Any cooks among the foodies?

I'm looking for a good set of knives. My aunt, the caterer, recommends Cutco. Anyone else have a recommendation?

That is a pretty good call, Buck. I know nothing about knives, and I am not even sure how we fell into one of those J.A. Henckels knives, but it is the best knife we own.

I have a good friend who is a chef. We live on opposite sides of country now and really not in contact.
But I remember him having Henckels when he was at Johnson & Wales.

My wife's a chef, and we have Henckel knives. Sharpen them every once in a while and they're good to go. We got them about 20 years ago. No problems with them at all.

Thank y'all! That's the one I think my aunt said her husband used.

That website sure is a pain in the ass, though.

From reading The SJ Style guide to learn about this place, I saw that there was a poster
by the handle of Pickle Juice who went from the cutlery business to covering The Miami Dolphins. Perhaps they are still around and could give you some good advise on the best knives to buy or even better get you a good deal.

Good call, earth. I'll have to drop a note. Perhaps PJ still has some friends in the business.

Nice walk down memory lane. THAT was fun. I can't even remember if I was here when it went down, but I read that thread. Classic.

My family loves gelato, we usually pick some up every weekend. We recently tried using a pour n serve mix (got it from Gelato per Tutti) just to see how it goes, and it was actually really good. We made a simple vanilla batch first, then tried adding crushed pistachios the next time. It's a fun little weekend thing now.
