Cleve Bryant was dismissed from his position as associate athletics director for football operations in March after a University of Texas investigation concluded that he sexually harassed a female administrative assistant .
Gloria Allred, a lawyer who represented the administrative assistant, spoke to the American-Statesman Thursday night about the school's decision.
Earlier, ESPN, citing university documents, reported that the woman complained of unwanted physical contact from Bryant, as well as inappropriate comments and text messages over a two-year period.
The woman no longer works for the university. "She is getting on with her life," Allred said. "It took a lot of courage for her to come forward."
A settlement has been reached, said Allred, who added that she could not reveal details .
Bryant, who at the time of his dismissal was making a base salary of $237,309 a year, had been football coach Mack Brown's right-hand man.
