"The facility will not be usable," Shey Guinn, president of SMG, the company that manages Reliant Park, told the Houston Chronicle.

"There's some structural damage to the roof. Part of it is off," Guinn said, according to the paper. "There's also some other damage on the property caused by wind and water. We're in the process of assessing the damage. As far as the game being postponed again or played, that will be up to the NFL."

Tue, Nov. 11 is the best day for both teams.

Or else, the NFL must consider draconian stuff, like getting rid of the two-week Super Bowl workup.

What does this do for fantasy teams? Will this week's matchups not be finalized until whenever this game is played?

Dude, if they aren't playing this week, they aren't playing this week.

Seems like the players must be eliminated from usage, as if they were injured.

Uh, bench your Texans and Ravens. It's not a big deal. Some people down that way have much worse to worry about right now.

Uh, a hurricanre is ripping through Texas and you assholes are worried about how it will affect your childish little fantasy leagues.

Douchebags!

I wasn't trying to make light of that at all. Please don't get me wrong on that, and maybe my original post sounded more flippant than I intended. I thought it was just an interesting question (and I think the injury thing is the best way to look at it.)

yes, in the midst of a catastropic natural disaster, dozens dead, hundreds injured, thousands routed from their homes, billions of dollars in damage, let us keep our minds on the truly important things. ::)

Save your righteous indignation. The NFL will still be playing games. There's college football games being played. Baseball is still playing. Doesn't seem that the world has shut down. If someone not in Houston wants to think about fantasy football, have at it.

Anyone who thinks about fantasy football more than about 30 seconds in their lives is a ****ing idiot anyway. Live in the real world.

They're going to have to play at a neutral site. AlamoDome, here we come! Or how about the Superdome?
If they switch, I guess they can still play this Monday or Tuesday.

Otherwise, Nov. 11

Hear that, Big Circus? You've got about 17 seconds left.

Which is about as long as I thought about the question before I started getting attacked. It's football, not one of the "truly important things" to begin with. This isn't in the Ike thread or even in the same league as people dying or losing their homes. Fantasy football is an offshoot detail of what this thread is about. But I'm the ****ing idiot douchebag that asked the question to begin with, so take that for what it's worth. No perspective here.

The Texans play Nov. 9.

Why are there dozens dead?

Wowza... NFL Record And Fact Book has Texans playing Bengals on Nov. 6 on Texans page.

Rare mistake for them.

Regardless, the NFL should switch that Nov. 6 game, Denver at Cleveland with the Nov. 9 Texans-Bengals.

Guess what -- Ike killed tons more people in Haiti than it has in Houston. Did Starman's world shut down when that happened? Or is it limited to U.S. disasters?

More people are in the hospital or dead from the train crash in LA than Hurricane Ike's landfall in Texas.
