Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling asked Rhode Island officials for more money for his video game company 38 Studios LLC in a private meeting Wednesday morning, held to discuss whether its reported financial troubles threaten the state’s $75 million investment in the company.

“Rhode Islanders’ hard-earned money is at stake,” Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee said before the closed session.

I got it, why don't you run right out and cut the education budget or road repairs or police or hospitals or public parks or some other of that worthless bull**** that nobody cares about, in order to free up some more money you can hand out to the millionaire. Because he is A Job Creator.

If 38 Studios defaults on the loan, Rhode Island taxpayers may be on the hook for $112 million to bondholders.

It very well might be in the state's best interests to see to it that 38 Studios succeed.

Still, this sure looks like a ****ty deal, especially when it appears 38 Studios big September release "Project Copernicus" will not debut at E3.
